CASPIAN a.k.a. "Minion"
November 1, 2013 ~ January 24, 2018
Adopted: June 2, 2015
FOREVER IN OUR HEART!

It is with sadness that I write of the passing of our cherished pet, Caspian, a.k.a. "Minion."  As you may be aware, he was a special needs cat who suffered from lung disease and chronic asthma. Caspian had a remarkable, God-given ability to touch the lives of those he met. He lived by one creed, "since he loved everyone, everyone must have loved him."  As a result, he generously poured out his love. Undoubtedly, he left a pawprint on the hearts of many.

Caspian entered the hospital on January 20th and two days later underwent both left and right cranial lung lobectomies to correct Pneumothoraxes. Although the surgery wasn't as successful as we had hoped, for reasons which are known only to God he chose to intervene and our little Minion's lungs began to heal miraculously on their own. One day post-op, the doctors were encouraged by his progress; we even discussed long-term options for his care going forward.

But in the end, his lungs were too diseased to oxygenate. The combination of reduced lung volume, pneumonia, and persistent pneumothorax was overwhelming. In the wee hours of the morning, on January 24th, he went into cardiac arrest, and although doctors attempted to resuscitate him, they were unsuccessful.  Our little Caspian passed away at 2:46 a.m. He fought until the end but, God knew it was time; he had fought his last battle.

"Heaven will be a place of perfect happiness for us—and if we need animals around us to make our happiness complete, then you can be sure God will have them there."

                                    Billy Graham

"Romans 8:21-23 assumes animals as part of a suffering creation eagerly awaiting deliverance through humanity's resurrection. This seems to require that some animals who lived, suffered, and died on the old Earth must be made whole on the New Earth. Wouldn't some of those likely be our pets?"
